GIVING BACK TO LOCAL BUSINESS
DMEA is only as successful as the communities we serve. But it’s been a rough—a really rough—year. COVID-19 has impacted the way we do business—from the littlest details like friendly smiles covered with masks, to the big things like temporary office shutdowns and business closures. DMEA’s 2021 Annual Meeting isn’t immune to these changes either, but instead of just wishing for a better chance next year, we’re doing something to give our local businesses a boost. Introducing the 2021 DMEA Annual Meeting Business Support Grants!
WHAT: DMEA is going virtual for its 2021 Annual Meeting. All the funds DMEA budgeted to hold the meeting with members in person are now being used to support our local small businesses instead. There is $30,000 in business grants up for grabs.
WHO: The program is open to all business that are locally owned and operated within DMEA’s service territory. They must be DMEA members. Businesses that have received any type of DMEA financial support, such as Operation Round Up funds, a DMEA donation/sponsorship, or in-kind labor within the past 3 years are ineligible for a grant.
WHEN: Nominations will be accepted March 15, 2021 – May 10, 2021. Applicants will be required to submit the online nomination form below, as well as include proof of a local business license and DMEA membership. Your DMEA Board of Directors will vote on applicants and determine final grants. Recipients will be announced at the Annual Meeting on June 17, 2021.
